How-to Guide: Using the SMART-enabled i2b2 web client

This guide will provide you with an introduction on how to use the SMART-enable i2b2 web client at smarti2b2.org.

Step 2. Th When the i2b2 web client loads, you will see the i2b2 query tool which allows you to create simple and complex queries to find patient sets. In this demo, a set of 133 sample patients is provided. On the left-hand side, the Workplace section contains an expandable "i2b2 Patients" folder which contains bookmarks to the sample patients that we have identified before. Image Added

Step 3. Click on the "Analysis Tools" link located at the top-right to access the available i2b2 web client plugins in the demo. In the list of Plugins below, you will see a "SMART Dashboard" plugin. Select the plugin by clicking on it.

After selecting the "SMART Dashboard" plugin, you will see the following dashboard load; and this section will interact with SMART apps.

Step 4. In the SMART Dashboard, notice the "Drop a Patient Record Here" section. You can drag and drop a patient from the Workplace section to this area. After a patient has been selected, you can select a SMART app by clicking on the available SMART app icons. Below, we have selected the Cardiac Risk app.

Step 5. In the available SMART apps, you will notice a Local App icon which makes reference to loading a locally hosted SMART app at http://localhost:8000/
