i2b2 Software Release Notes

The release notes contained in this section / document address enhancements and other relevant information about each of the 1.6 releases.

Release Highlights

Release 1.6 = Modifier-enabled i2b2

Release Date: October 10, 2011

This release will allow for the use of modifiers to compliment the concept codes and be used in patient queries. For example, multiple modifiers such as dose, frequency and route can enhance the medication entry.

Other Major Software Enhancements

  • Client queries that specify observations should occur in the same encounter.
  • Client queries that enable modifiers to be used for specifying patients and encounters.
  • Services allow for including previous queries in new Boolean queries.
  • Items from patient and encounter tables can be used in queries.

Release 1.6.01 = Web Client, Server and Oracle Metadata changes

Release Date: November 14, 2011

This release contains fixes for the i2b2 Web Client and server code. There is also a minor correction to the metadata inserted into an oracle database.

Release 1.6.02 = String constraints and updates to obfuscation process

Release Date: December 16, 2011

The 1.6.02 contains changes to support the ability to set string constraints when querying as well as updates to the obfuscation process. Several fixes are also included in this release as well as demo data updated with examples of string values.

Release 1.6.03 = Large text searches and some Web Client enhancements

Release Date: March 16, 2012

The 1.6.03 contains changes to support the ability to perform large text searches when running a query. In addition it contains several enhancements to the Web Client. These enhancements include viewing reports in the timeline, auto-generate the timeline when the query has completed, and printing the query from query status view. Several fixes are also included in this release as well as demo data updated with examples of string values.

Release 1.6.04 = Bug fixes

Release Date: July 9, 2012

Version 1.6.04 of the i2b2 software fixes a few issues with the i2b2 Web Client, Workbench and the i2b2 Server.

Release 1.6.05 = Search indexes optimized and Bug fixes

Release Date: August 30, 2012

Release 1.6.05 contains a couple of minor enhancements including optimizing search indexes used in SQL Server. It also contains various fixes.

Release 1.6.06 = Web Client enhancements to value constraint and Bug fixes

Release Date: September 5, 2012

Release 1.6.06 contains a couple of minor enhancements to value constraint window in the Web Client, particularly numeric constraints. It also contains various fixes.

Release 1.6.07 = Web Client enhancements and bug fixes

Release Date: October 18, 2012

Release 1.6.07 contains a couple of minor enhancements to the Web Client. The first enhancement allows users to resize the two panels in the Web Client and the other will clear the results in the Qury Status view whenever a change is made to a query in the Query Tool.

This release also contains a fix for an issue in which some queries containing modifiers did not always send the correct key in the xml message sent to the CRC.

Release 1.6.08 = Bug fixes

Release Date: December 20, 2012

Version 1.6.08 of the i2b2 software fixes a few issues with the i2b2 Web Client, Workbench and the i2b2 Server.
