Ontology Mapper Minutes

11/25/08

Present on Call: Rob, Marco, Hillari, Aaron, Paul, Prakash, Bill Grant, Ketty, Nick, Mark

1)     Data Dictionary – Bill Grant has pointed out that we should adopt standards for how input data is represented.  For example, all environments that import data from Siemens Lifetime Clinical Record should have similar ETL processes and should store that information in the Concept Dimension with somewhat consistent paths.  Ontology Mapper already has a very formal data dictionary of target mappings via the caDSR and the IEC111-79 data models and documentation.  But a data dictionary of likely/common input data sets would also be invaluable.  This items has been made dependent on #2 below…

2)     The merging of the Concept Dimension and i2b2 table.  Prakash and Aaron have agreed to work together to solve this.  I have asked that Marco and Bill be CC’ed on this activity.

3)     There are 4 deliverables that it may be useful to have UW work on.  Nick and Rob will talk about this later in the week.

  1. Use of Properties within the XML mapping instance files
  2. Ontomapper background process/job control
  3. Transformation language enhancement
  4. PROMPT Plugin to make map authoring easier – UI design needs to be started soon

4)     QA Work – Hillari explained what she is working on in the QA area

5)     Ketty is working on defining the test data metadata for the Monster test data set.  Areas to cover include Patient Intake, Lab Data, ICD-9, Genomic Markers, Pharmacy Data, Radiology

6)     Prakash will continue working on UI enhancements

7)     ctrGRID – OSU and UCSF are continuing with the caGRID cell work.  Paul will work with OSU so that they can use our Dev subnet.

8)     Rob will distribute a Project schedule after talking with Nick

9)     Rob will get campus accounts for all external collaborators immediately for access to the Dev subnet

10)                        Nick’s weekly call will be scheduled after the kick-off meeting

11)                        Marko is publishing an Ontomapper DB Paper for the Spring AMIA (Dec 15 th deadline)

Thanks!
