Welcome to the Ontology Working Group space! 

The Ontology Working Group (OWG) space is here to provide a place for tutorials, documentation and tools to assist with understanding, modifying and building an Ontology tree. Some of these items include:

  • Ontology Basics
  • How ontology is used to generate queries
  • Organizing ontologies for federated query systems
  • Modifiers
  • Ontology tools

Mission Statement 

The immediate goals of the Ontology working group is to provide a place for tutorials and tools to assist with ontology creation and development. In the long run the goals of the Ontology Working Group are to include the development, dissemination and maintenance of current and historically complete ontology and terminology standards metadata in support of the cost effective, comprehensive and interoperable deployment of tranSMART and i2b2 software tools.
