Description
The i2b2 Workbench uses 3rd party software like JAVA. We have run into issues where the i2b2 Workbench has stopped working on Macs. This is because JAVA used to be installed and delivered with all the computers. This meant they controlled the version that was used by all macs. Apple no longer delivers their version of JAVA, instead users download it directly from Java's website. This minor change has caused all the issues users are encountering with the i2b2 Workbench (mac version).
Since we rely on JAVA can't make any changes to their software, we have decided the best way to resolve our issue is to create a VM image that contains a version of JAVA that we know is working with the i2b2 Workbench.
This story is to track the tasks that are to be taken and any issues that arise. The VM is to be released with the 1.7.10 release.
