Large queries in Find Term fails

Doing a query in the find term for say 'a' on a large ontology returns nothing. Looking at the log the server sent back:
    <response_header>
        <result_status>
            <status type="ERROR">MAX_EXCEEDED</status>
        </result_status>
    </response_header>

Should prompt the user to query on a smaller set.
