Ontology Mapper Meeting Minutes

Present on call: Rob, Paul, Marco, Prakash and Mark

This was a long call mostly on the topic of the changes to the i2b2 schema required to run the Ontology Mapper.

1)     Prakash has his first build checked into Dynamsoft

2)     Schema walkthrough – Prakash walked us through the ontology mapper schema and how that relates to i2b2 integration

3)     We talked about the problems of using the native i2b2 XML BLOB and CRC mechanism – BLOBS have a size limitation and searching them is very slow.  That will be impractical for typical researcher usage.

4)     Talked about a database View based Data Delivery Pipeline mechanism as an alternative

5)     The view mechanism can be used to update the i2b2 Workbench as well.

There has been a robust email based side discussion rolling since this call. 

We are attempting to get some performance input on the View mechanism from Sybase.  Also Rob has distributed a new version of Marco’s paper which includes this updated algorithm.
