MedCo is the first operational system that makes sensitive medical-data available for research in a simple, privacy-conscious and secure way. It enables hundreds of clinical sites
to(with or without an i2b2 installation) to federate and collectively protect their data
and tofor securely
sharesharing them with
investigatorsresearchers, without single points of failure.
MedCo
comes as an add-builds on top of an i2b2 core installation
.MedCo appliesand i2b2 data model and transparently provides advanced privacy-enhancing techniques, such as:
- Collective homomorphic encryption;
- Secure distributed protocols;
- Blockchains;
- Differential privacy.
