synonyms are not found when using webclient and in find terms tab

The ontology view of the webclient shows synonyms, but they can't be found in find terms, even with the synonyms check box selected.
When comparing to the eclipse client, it appears that the outgoing xml request does not have synonyms="true" in the webclient, while it does appear in the eclipse client.
